Frequently Asked Questions

What are green lipped mussels?

Green lipped mussels are relatively innocuous ocean creatures that are native to the coasts of New Zealand. They’re known (and named) for the distinctive patterning across their shell – a striking green stripe on the outside, and a bright green lip on the inside.

How many a day can I feed my dog?

Providing your doggo doesn’t have an underlying shellfish allergy, there are very few concerns for dogs when taking mussels daily. We recommend up to 5 a day.

Why does do green mussels smell so strong? Is this smell normal?

It's super normal — and better yet, dogs love it. Your dog’s sense of smell that actually provides the most information on exactly what they’re chowing down on. So that salty, fishy, tangy smell that makes us scrunch our nose up? It drives them dog-gone wild.

How can I learn more about this treat?

Is this product suitable to puppies?

Yes, it is.
